MEET METRO

ALWAYS TRADITIONAL.

NEVER FOR SALE.

FORTY YEARS OF TRADITION.

We are changemakers.

Metro Aviation was incorporated in 1982 as a helicopter charter, flight training, and maintenance operation. Our entry into the air medical service business came in November 1983 with two used Hughes 500-D model helicopters when Metro Aviation entered into a long-term agreement to provide helicopter ambulance service for Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Metro Aviation now has more than 160 air medical aircraft throughout the United States. Our pilots, technicians, operational control specialists, and support staff fly and maintain helicopters for our traditional customers in more than 28 states.

As the largest privately-owned traditional operator, Metro is agile, adaptive, and able to change course on a dime. We’re innovators.  We’re changemakers. We’re rebels.

Are you one of us?

A culture that makes you feel like family from day one.

From the moment you step onto a tradeshow booth, meet us at a recruiting event, or fill out an application, you’ll know what we mean by “metro family.”

It was the best most professional interview process I had taken place in my career. They made me feel so welcome. It felt like visiting old friends, very different to feel like that in a job interview.

The “hard to fill” bonuses and market adjustments are pretty amazing, especially as costs keep increasing. And I continue to be impressed by the benefits Metro provides — health insurance and travel coverage and everything. I feel so lucky to be working for Metro, with such a great team of people and such a beautiful aircraft.
